Witness appeal after woman bitten by dog in Hitchin

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was bitten by a dog in Hitchin.

The incident occurred between 8am and 8.15am on Friday (27 February) in Priory Park.

It is reported that the victim, a woman in her 70s had been walking in the park with her dog, when another dog, described as a chocolate brown Labrador, tried to attack her dog. The woman intervened and was bitten on the hand.

PC Peacock from the North Herts Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Our enquiries are continuing, and we are appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.

“We would also like to speak to the owner of the Labrador, who is described as a white woman, in her late 30s who was quite tall with long dark brown hair.
